My late husband (Bucky Stover) and I used to live across the street.
Many nice summer days, Barbara and/or John would bring Zach over to visit and play with our daughter Maria.
I saw and talked with Barbara one Saturday night in January 2011. We ran into each other at Mamma Maria's and chatted for a while.
I drove up Kimball Friday night and saw the auction sign. It sadden me to learn of her passing, but I am sure she had one heck of a homecoming in heaven with so many family members waiting there to greet her!!!
I will always think of Barbara and John and smile! :o)

Barbara was one of my very first friends when I moved to Roanoke in 1965. My first year of teaching, she gave me a ride to Melrose Elementary every day since I didn't have a car. Later, Barbara and I taught together again at Highland Park. Along with several other teachers, we would go out after each PTA meeting for drinks and relaxation. I always enjoyed her company and loved to hear her laugh. We had some good times together. I am so sorry for your loss. Charlotte Hanks
