Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory began its service to the Roanoke Valley in March of 1997 as Simpson-Tharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
Allen Simpson a Roanoke native, and W.D. "Skip" Tharp of Bedford, Va. had a vision of offering families in the Roanoke Valley another choice for funeral and crematory services.
Their goal was one of clarity. To offer the best in personal service, beautiful facilities, the latest in funeral merchandise, all at affordable prices.
In April 2004 Mr. Tharp sold his interest in the business to Allen Simpson and the name was changed to Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory to reflect the change in ownership.
Through the years, Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory has grown to become one of the most respected family owned providers of funeral goods and crematory services in the Roanoke area.
