In the early morning hours of Monday, April 18, 2011 Elsie Trent Dow departed this life at her home at 513 Brake Road Elliston. She was born August 14, 1919 in Powhatan, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, her husband, Carl Lacy Dow, sons; Milton and Weldon Dow and son-in-law, James Sallee. Surviving are her children, Geraldine (Ronn) Broadway, Carlton (Frances) Dow, Gladys Dow, Evelyn Carter, Margaret Sallee; grandchildren Cynthia (Donald) Dyson, Melissa Dow, Kenneth (Kimberly) Dow, Danielle (Robert) Knight, II; great grandchildren, Niquira Velez, Rodney Hearse, Robert Knight, III, Kendal Addison Dow and many other relatives and friends. A special thanks to the staff of Medi Home Health and Hospice for their many acts of kindness. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Thomas Penn. Interment will follow in the Elliston First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home 366-0707
