Dorothy was a "shut-in" member of Summerdean Church of the Brethren when my husband, Don, and I started attending the church. When I got to know about some of the absentee members, I heard about Dorothy and started visiting her occasionally. I found her to be such a sweet, friendly, loving lady. We had some good visits and, after those visits, we continued to correspond by telephone or written notes. It was later in our friendship that I learned that my son, Ray, and husband, Don, knew her son, Jim, quite well through their work with his company. Both men thought a lot of him and often expressed what a nice person he was. I, as well as Ray and Don, were very sorry to hear of Jim's recent passing.) To Dorothy and Jim's remaining family members, I want to say that God certainly blessed you, and us, with their presence while both were here. Romans 15:13 says, "I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete happiness and peace because of your faith. And May the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope."
