Howard P. Moody, Sr. 85of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Howard was a Navy Veteran of WWII, retired from the highway construction business then spent 20 years in the home repair business. Was a member and Past Master of Lakeland Masonic Lodge #190 AF & AM., member of Kazim Temple of the Shrine and the Scottish Rite Bodies. Surviving are his wife, Betty Thompson Moody; sons, Howard P. Moody Jr. and wife Beverly, Troutville, Wayne Moody and wife Janice, Montvale; daughter, Betty M. Lawson and husband Kenneth, Roanoke; grandchildren, Aaron Moody, Jessica Kyle and husband Ian, Cloverdale, Zachary Moody, Jacob and Matthew Lawson; great grandchild, Lucas Kyle; numerous nieces and nephews and a close friend Rev. James Millsaps. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 6-8:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home. Funeral Service with Masonic Rights will be 1:00pm Friday, October 8, 2010 with Rev. James Millsaps officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Donations in his name may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
