One day during our lunch hour I brought my car up town so when I got off from work I could go straight home. When we came in on our last trip and the other shift had taken over and pulled out I realized I had left my purse on the bus. I could not go anywhere because my car keys was also in it. Feeling really mad at myself I began walking away from Campbell Court Station when Mike and Jay pulled up and asked me if I needed a ride. I told them what happened so they said jump in the back we'll take you to get your purse. Jay had a DOT physical just up town so we dropped him off and Mike took off like he was on a police chase to catch my bus in route so I could get my purse. Going in and out of the streets we finally caught up with it going into Vinton. He pulled in front of the bus as it stopped to let someone off and I ran to the bus and got my purse and jumped in the back and we sped off like we were on the run from the law. We were laughing all the way back to town. He drove me right to my car and made sure I got in ok and then pulled off to go pick up Jay. It was special that he took the time and went through so much to help me get it so I did not have to wait just an hour for the bus to pull back into Campbell Court. I will always remember us laughing together that day and all the days at lunch. I miss him so much and he will always own a special place in my heart. God Bless.

I used to relieve Mike for lunch and he always would say to me "you are the best looking thing I have seen all day" When I would return from my run, Mike would be standing there waiting on me. He never made me wait, I could count on him to be there and that was just one of the nice things he did besides SMILE

Mike and I were friends at William Byrd High School while he attended there, and he was one of my best friends during that time. He often gave me rides home from school and to and from work. We talked on the phone a lot, talking about our favorite songs, tv shows, school, our jobs, vacations, and life in general. When I would spend the night with a girlfriend up the street from Mick or Mack in Vinton where he worked, we would walk down to the store to see him. The cashiers in there were always jealous that we were friends. HAHA He was always there to lend an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on. He wrote the most treasured letter I've ever had in my poem book from school. What a great guy and true friend. We may have lost touch over the years, but I thought of him often and warmly. He will forever and truly be missed, and eternally remembered.
