To Jan's family:
I was so saddened by Jan's passing; however, I was happy that she is no longer suffering.
I met Jan shortly after she moved to Roanoke when I became her next door neighbor.
We had many wonderful times together. We played Scrabble 2 to 3 times per week. We would take turns going to each other's home to play.
At Christmas we walked from one apartment to the other, including other neighbors to share a meal. One would serve a salad, another a dessert, one an entree and Jan would serve soup.
We would also attend a gathering of empty nesters once a month where I was privileged to witness Jan's ability to dance. She was very good. I was impressed.
We would also go on trips together, such as dinner theatres with a musical group performing or riding along the Blue Ridge Parkway during the peak of the beautiful autumn blooms with it's vibrant colors.
I can really say that at her peak here, she thoroughly enjoyed her life..
She is truly missed. I love you Jan.
