Obituary of Richard Hernandez

Richard Hernandez of Troutville, VA went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Feliciano Hernandez and Pastora Castillo Hernandez.

Rick and his wife Jen met and married in Miami, FL where they both grew up. He was a very loving man who had the beautiful gift of singing. He shared a special musical bond with his daughter, Rowan. Through the trials and tribulations of his life, he found a passion for the Lord. His passion shined through his voice and mannerisms as he served Christ, singing praises to Him for others to hear. He also adored our puppy, Nuna and shared a sweet bond with her.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Wolfe-Hernandez, children, Rowan, Tamlyn, Autumn & Abigail, sister, Noemi Hernandez Zamora, brother, David along with several cousins and nieces.

We would like to thank the University of Virginia Transplant Center and MICU for their care of Rick and the many special friends who were always there and still are.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation (National Kidney Foundation).

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
