Sally Anne was a dear friend to my family when moving to Roanoke from Pittsfield, Mass. in which we knew no one. She played the organ at Grandin Court Baptist and was ecspecially meaning to me after my dad died as she came alone side me and asked me if I needed to talk about anything at 14 years of age. I wish I had taken her up on more of those talks. Additionally she was there for my dad David Smyth who had a heart for clsssical music and was able to share this with him and talk to him about this when no one else was at that time. She also taught my sisters piano and finally Sally also help my mom get involved with P.E.O. and came along side of her when my mom was widowed. She was a true believer in God and wanted others to come and know him.
Sally also married an exceptional man Nathan, who I also aspire to model after. I will never forget her talent for music, genuine concern for others and the ability to mentor people. God gained a beautiful women inside and out!
