Obituary of Richard Wayne Niday

Richard Wayne Niday (Wayne), 74, of Troutville, passed away, Wednesday, March 9, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by the “love of his life” wife of 30 years Shirley as well as his parents, Roscoe and Blache Niday; sister, Charlotte Ramsey; brother, Billy Niday.

Wayne often said “I am just an ole country boy.” Wayne did what most country boys of his generations did: worked hard and played hard. Forty years of that hard work was at the cement plant.

If he believed in someone, he had their back no matter what. The sweetest side of Wayne was seen in the “nicknames” he gave to those he loved.

Those surviving and welcome hearing your memories of this ‘Good ‘Ole Country boy are his daughters, Nikki Boblett and husband Ricky and daughter, Kitty Ferris; grandchildren, Cheyenne Cundiff, Briana Cundiff, Kiana McNutt, and Jake McNutt; great-grandchildren, Adriana, Holden, and Lincoln; a very special friend, Pam Webb; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 12:30 pm at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11-12:30. Interment will be private for immediate family. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. (540)366-0707.
