Obituary of Chase Randall Tiedemann

Please share a memory of Chase to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Chase Randall Tiedemann of Salem, Virginia, just 31 years old, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2022. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.

Chase was born March 31, 1990, attended Salem High School, obtained certification as a Personal Trainer, and lived in Salem the majority of his life.

Chase was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Sue Tiedemann, whom he absolutely adored.

He is survived by his parents, Cliff and Dedra; his daughter, Leia; his brother, Christian; and a number of family members and friends.

Chase was a free spirit, (not really sure where he got that), who believed in change and flexibility. He was a loyal friend and at times, to his detriment. He loved music; all of it, but enjoyed alternative (Red Hot Chili Peppers) the most. Hence, the tattoo. He was funny, quick witted, razor sharp, dry and did things seemlingly effortless.

His work ethic offered him long term employment positions to include Wells Fargo. He obtained certification as a Personal Trainer, but his passion was solar energy. He was self-taught and finally landed his dream job in the solar energy arena.

He will be desperately missed by all of those that he left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this loss. He was one of a kind, and we were truly blessed to know Chase.

To remember in “Chase” fashion, a small private celebration of life will take place at Smith Mountain Lake on Friday, March 11, 2022. A larger celebration may be forthcoming in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, cards, or donations, the family asks you to, “hug your loved ones a little tighter, love a little longer, judge a lot less, laugh a little louder, forgive a little faster, because as the saying goes … tomorrow is never promised.”
