Kennis “Lee” Chambers,59, fondly known as Cheez, entered His Father’s kingdom on January 11, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.


Lee was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Mary Ann Chambers, and Kennis and Gertrude Shilling; and his father, Tobey Caudill Chambers.

He is survived by his mother and stepdad, Janet and Bobby Lancaster; brother, Anthony Chambers; nephews, Matthew Huhn and Anthony (AC) Chambers, son, Weston Powell; grandsons, Julius Powell and Jsai Powell; daughter, Allyson Powell and fiancé Justin Howard; granddaughter, Eliana Howard, uncle and aunt, Donnie and Marcy Shilling; aunt, Joyce Hudson; and several cousins.


Lee was a devout Christian and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church where loved to worship the Lord. Lee enjoyed watching sports and was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Red Sox. He liked spending time in his yard, with his beagle, Marxer.


Lee was a kind and generous soul, always willing to help a friend or neighbor. He had a contagious smile and a twinkle in his eyes. He was a devoted son, father, papa, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to be his family and friends.

Services will be held Friday, January 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carl Goodman officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Chapel. (540)366-0707.
