Obituary of Crystal Laverne Woolwine

Crystal Laverne Woolwine, 93, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020. She was the daughter of the late William H. and Ruby Ronk Woolwine.

Laverne never married or had children of her own so she found great joy in taking care of everyone else’s children. She was very artistic, loved collecting dolls and was a long time member of Riverdale Baptist Church.

She is survived by her siblings, Lena Scyphers of Roanoke, Cliff Woolwine of Utah, Sid Woolwine of Florida and Sylvia DeHart of Salem; numerous nieces and nephews including, Mark and Tia Nichols, Chris Nichols, Joel Nichols, Jim Webb, Kara Terrell, Darla Ebert, Karen Jones, Lori Martin, Ona Gillespie, David Scyphers, Wanda Alwine, Rodney Scyphers, Naomi Shelor, and Faye Bullin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ellen Webb, Louise Woolwine, Bill Woolwine, Fred Woolwine, and Eva Johnson.  

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Drew Wright officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service.
