Obituary of Wessley C. Patterson

Rev. Wessley C “Pat” Patterson 81 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Monday April 15, 2019. His wife Jeanette Patterson preceded him.

Rev. Patterson was retired after many years of serving the Lord. He was saved at Bethel Baptist in Salem, then served at Preston Oaks in Roanoke, Trinity Baptist, in Bedford, and Eagle Rock Baptist in Eagle Rock. During his spare time he coached youth baseball, enjoyed camping, being outdoors, and Myrtle Beach. However, mostly he was very much a family man, a great husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will dearly missed by all.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheryl Patterson of Myrtle Beach; son, Keith Patterson and special companion, Ruby Ferguson of Glade Hill; grandson, Dusty Patterson and wife Brooke of Roanoke; great granddaughter, Taliah Gremling; step granddaughter, Jessie Snyder; a special niece, Lisa Trottman and her children, Chance and Madison Trottman; nephew, Robbie Murphy; sister-in-law, Joan Murphy both of Roanoke. Along with a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials to a charity of your choice in Rev. Patterson’s name.

A funeral service celebrating Rev. Patterson’s life will be held 10:00am Saturday April 20, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm Friday April 19, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home.
