Olander and his family lived in SE Roanoke two blocks from us.....He went to school with my brothers and myself, starting at Belmont Elementary. My brother, Wayne Dulaney, and Olander were inseparable growing up and maintained a bond of friendship throughout the years, in spite of Wayne being in the Navy and away from Roanoke since 1960. In fact, when I talked to Wayne this past Sunday, he reminded me of Olander's birthday In December and asked that I send him a card. He was saddened of the news of Olander's death, as am I. Our condolences to Olander's family.
