Obituary of Laura Semler

Laura Semler, of Salem, formerly of Colón, Republic of Panama, born on December 9, 1947 went back to God on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. She was a devoted teachers aid and translator with Fallon Park Elementary School. Also was a loving and caring wife, partner, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. Surviving are her loving husband and partner of 44 years, Gordon Semler; children, Stephanie Baker and husband, Jim of Alexandria, Adam Semler and wife Erin of Roanoke; grandchildren, Kiana and Draven Semler; sister, Marcela Morales of Chantilly, VA; brothers, Ricardo Morales of Panama and Rogelio Morales of Miami, FL. In lieu of Flowers memorial may be made to the Save the Children Foundation in her name. A memorial service will be held 4:00pm Friday, August 31, 2012 in the Simpson Funeral Home with Chaplain Troy Mays officiating. Friends may visit with the family following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Friends may send their condolence at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
