Obituary of Jane Farley Lewis
Jane Farley Lewis 87 of Salem passed away Thursday March 8, 2018. Her parents, Clarence Haley and Thelma Petty Lewis, and an aunt, Julie Slusher Illg, preceded her.
Janie was employed by the Goodwill Industries and a member of St. James Episcopal Church for many years. Sweet Janie was extroverted and loved social events. Because of her gifted memory, she would always entertain people by recalling people’s names and events that took place even back to the 1930’s. She could always tell you the manes of the actors and actresses in the old movies and what channel they will be shown on. Janie was really funny and made people smile. She was also a very talented artist and was inspired by music and she painted beautiful watercolors. Janie was kind, May she rest in eternal peace.
Janie is survived by her sister, Douglas Ann L. Slusher: nieces, Pamella Slusher of Miami, and Gwynn Hamel of Lake Mary FL.; son-in-law, David Landau of Miami; along with cousins, Brittany Hamel of Lake Mary, FL, and Blake Hamel of WI., and a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. James Episcopal Church, or a charity of your choice in Janie’s memory.
