Gary Marvin Davidson, 65, of Roanoke went peacefully to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. He retired from PYA Monarch and US Food Service with 37 years of service. From a very young age Gary loved to hunt and fish with his friends. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Eugene Davidson. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Debbie Deacon Davidson; daughters, Amanda Davidson and Allison Davidson; his grandson and best friend, Bailey Davidson; mother, Naomi Marshall Davidson; brother, Steve Davidson and wife Marcie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Boyd and Laura Deacon; brothers-in-law, Greg Deacon (Terry), Danny Deacon and Mark Deacon (Crissy); along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Flowers are appreciated,or donations may be made to the North Roanoke Baptist Church Building Fund or the Wrestling Program C/O Northside High School (please be sure to write "wrestling team" on the memo line). Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
