Obituary of Cleo Bradley Tate

Cleo Bradley Tate 82 of NC. formerly of Roanoke passed away at her home in the morning hours of Saturday, December 10, 2016. Cleo was born on January 1, 1934. Cleo & her late husband, William "Bill" Tate, owned Tate Chemical Company in Baltimore, Maryland & resided there until their retirement to Pinehurst, NC. Cleo was an avid golfer for many years and enjoyed entertaining in her beautiful home. She loved the community of Foxfire Village and was especially grateful for the very special friendships that were formed in recent years with many wonderful friends who she loved dearly. Cleo is preceded in death by her loving husband, William M. Tate, her mother and father, Nellie and Cecil Bradley, sisters, Mary Ellen Bivens, Juanita Mae Epperly, and a niece, Janice Linda Weikle. Surviving are her nephew, and a niece, Ronnie Lee Bivens, and Patricia Lynn Foutz with whom she had a very special bond with and her daily phone calls to each of them will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to one of Cleo’s favorite organizations, your local ASPCA in her memory. A funeral service celebrating Cleo’s life will be held 11:00am Friday December 16, 2016 at Simpson Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time at the funeral home Friday. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
