My sincerest condolences to Dustin and the rest of the Price family. I cannot remember when I first met Tony, but I will always remember that infectious smile that he always seem to have. He would always be one of the first ones to help me out when I needed umpires in the Virginia Beach area. He was such an influence to other young umpires and it was certainly a great joy to see him work on the fields. Rest in Peace my friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Tony's passing. We loved Tony and his family. He was a dear brother who will be deeply missed. He had a faithful testimony of loving Jesus and loving others.
We are praying for you all. Love and hugs to Lisa. Encouragement for Dustin and Joe-- your father's favorite Bible verse was, "I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14). As your Dad so often encouraged others, may you also "press on" in the faith.

It is hard to describe the feelings we had when we heard the news. Tony was truly a man who impacted our lives for the Kingdom. The countless youth retreats and youth groups he touched through his ministry are immeasurable. Anytime we had an opportunity to invite Tony to speak into the lives of teenagers, it was tremendous. Dustin,Joe and Alisa, we are praying for you. Tony was not only a groomsman in our wedding but a man who will forever be in our hearts!!
In Christ,
Mike and Mary Anne Briles

Dusty, Jo Jo,
I am so sorry that I cannot be there for you guys and to celebrate your dad's life. I tried everything I could to get off work and travel back to Roanoke to be there, but I couldn't work it out... Just know I'm there in heart and my thoughts are with you.
When I heard your dad went to be with Jesus, I broke down in tears in my truck; in fact, I'm struggling to hold it together now. The reason being is that your dad had such an incredible impact on my life. Even long after his years as a youth pastor, his love for Jesus and for me (all the youth at the church) has always stayed with me. I am forever thankful for him for pouring out his life, opening his home and sacrificing so much so that I could understand what it means to walk with Jesus. If I didn't have a strong foundation in my faith, I don't know if I could put my trust in Him, but I can and your dad helped me build that foundation.
I can't put my grief for you into words because there are simply no words. Just know that if there is anything my family can ever do, don't hesitate to ask...
Tony... brother, thank you so much for all you have done. Thank you for saying yes to Jesus, even when it was difficult... I will never forget you and the legacy you left for many 30-40 somethings today... I will continue to lead my family in the way you taught me and that is to love people and love Jesus, with all that we have. I love you brother.. Tell my little Adalyn Grace that I love her and watch over her for me, I know she's in great hands.
See you soon,
Micah

It's a huge challenge to put into words how instrumental Tony was in my faith development at Rainbow while I was a teenager. He took me under his wing when I needed that fatherly input and encouragement. Such great and fond memories of his Sunday school lessons there in the basement of the RFBC Youth house and especially those Saturday night prayer meetings. I can still hear his boisterous but reaffirming proclamations of “AMEN” during the Sunday services testifying his overwhelming agreement with message from Pastors Rick, Ken, and Steve. As I see many names from that 90s era from the youth ministry at Rainbow here on this tribute page , I’m sure we’d all agree that there was nothing like receiving a “Tony hug” every Sunday that made you feel loved and appreciated. May his boys and family take comfort in knowing the major impact that he had in so many young people’s lives as I was but one of many that he inspired. Much love to Tony and his family.

Just last night I heard about this wonderful man of Gods Journey Home. As I sit here and write this with an extremely heavy heart because of the many ways Tony has touched my life, I also have my spirits lifted in knowing that We all have another Beautiful Angel watching over us. I remember fondly my days at Rainbow Baptist with Pastor Steve Witt, Tony and Barry Holbrook sharing their lives and their testimony with us all and never giving up on any of us no matter what, as well as taking as much time as we needed for one on one time to show us not their way but Gods way of doing things. I Truly Thank you from the bottom of my heart for never giving up on me Tony. You will always be missed but you will never be forgotten. Rest Easy my Friend.

As I minister throughout the rest of my life, I will never forget that it was Tony who gave me my first opportunity preach. He took me to Montgomery County Youth Detention Center and gave me his spot.
When Tony asked me to speak in his place, he said that the total service time would last an hour and that I would be given thirty minutes of that hour to preach. I was so nervous! Tony encouraged me all the way to Montgomery Co.
When we arrived, Tony introduced me to the lady in charge and told her that I would be speaking in his place. She told me that she was going to show a video, and then would introduce me after that to preach. Right before we were to go over to the place where the youth were, she came up to me and told me that she wasn't going to show the video and that I could have the whole hour. My heart fell to my stomach! Tony put his arm around me and said, "You're going to do just fine; God will see you through." He was right. I'll never forget that moment and day.
I will never forget working with Tony at Pitt-Ohio. We shared so many good times together there--we laughed together, cried together, prayed together and had many wonderful conversations together.
I'll never forget the last time Tony and I spent the day together. He went with me to hear me preach at a church in Rocky Mount. He again encouraged me on the ride down, and he encouraged me while I preached by saying: "come on!" and "son!" and "Amen!" whenever I said something that he liked.
You will be missed in my life my brother and friend, but you will never be forgotten.
I pray that the Lord gives all the family great comfort in this time of loss.

We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to the family of Tony. We were so very sad to hear of his passing. Tony made such an impact on mine and Bobbys life and was always a phone call away. He would drop whatever he was doing at whatever time to help us in a time of great need. He married Bobby and I in December of 2001 and helped lead us to a closer walk with Christ. I will be forever grateful for his influence on our life. May God bless you and strengthen you in these days ahead.

My heart is broken to hear about the loss of dear Tony. He was such a special friend to my husband Glenn. They were such good friends and fellow umpires for years. I know Glenn welcomed him with open arms when he arrived in heaven and they are already rejoicing. Tony is no longer in pain and can now claim all of those heavenly rewards. My deepest sympathy to the entire family for I truly know how you are hurting right now. Much love to all!

My heart broke when I read of Tony's passing. He was such a special person and a blessing to many. Tony and I worked together in the 80's when the Food Lion opened in Radford. We had a special friendship and I have some great memories to cherish. Tony was a great guy although he could be strong willed at times. He was also honest, kind, and a lot of fun to be around. We lost contact when he was transferred to the Roanoke area and I graduated from RU and also left Radford. I am so moved by the many comments I have read, especially from young people and/or parents with stories of how Tony touched their lives. I am so proud of the man he became. I am especially happy to see that he grew to love God and to share that love with others.
Joe and Dustin.... You guys are around the age that your dad was when we were good friends. When I look at the pictures of you, I see him. I see him in your eyes and your smiles. I always knew he would be a great dad and that is evident. Though we have never met, please know that I will be thinking of you both and I will be praying for you as you begin your life journey without him.
Keep his memory close to your heart and his spirit will always be with you.
Tony.... As I have done for the last 30 years, I will think of you and smile when I see a blue and white 68 Camaro at one of the car shows I sometimes attend. (I still like it better than the black one) and..... just so you know, I never learned to lean the right way in a curve on the back of a motorcycle. (I'm still a "chicken")
Shalom, my friend. I hope to see you someday "on the other side"

Tony was my friend, my confidant, and my partner in ministry to teens. He inspired me to be a godly man in the midst of a godless culture. We entered ministry at the same time under the mentorship of Steve Witt and those days at Rainbow Forest are the fondest memories of my life.
Tony, I love you brother. Until we embrace in glory.....

I cannot begin to put into words how much my heart is hurting right now. Dusty and Joe, your dad was an extraordinary man! Next to my parents, he had the biggest influence on my life. When I think back to my teenage years, I think of Tony and all he did for me and the youth group. I am so sad, yet rejoicing that he is not in pain anymore. He always told us to press on, and that is what I am going to do. Press on in the name of Jesus!! Till we meet again, Tony...

Dear Dustin and Joe,
I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved your dad. He was one of the best Youth Pastor's I have ever known. He had a great impact on the lives of my four boys. He was a wonderful staff member with my husband at Rainbow and we remember great years together. You sure can be proud of you dad. He loved Jesus with all his heart and the desire of his heart was that his boys would follow Jesus with a heart of passion. Please know of our prayers for you all.
Pressing On,
