My sincere condolences to Mrs. Day, Charlene Haley and extended family members,
Coach Day was a wonderful person and a pillar of the community. He touched the lives of so many of us as we passed the halls of most of the city schools here in the Roanoke area. He would always speak when he saw you out in public with a big smile. May you find comfort and strength in your wonderful memories of Mr. Day. God's peace be with each of you.

I'm so sorry Charlene. I know how hard this must be for you and your mom and Haley. I've thought of you often, and I know that the three of you took great measures with the care of your dad through everything over the last few years and that is a real testiment of love. Find some peace with that. There is a whole lot of love in your family and friends. Find your strength with us. Much love to you, Kristin

My condolences to Aunt Hilda, Ran, Charlene and Haley. Uncle Charles was such a great person. He was also a wonderful uncle. He will be truly missed. I was so happy that he, along with Aunt Hilda, were able to attend my son's graduation party this past May in Maryland. That was the last time I saw him and I am so thankful for the time that we all shared with him. I am also thankful that I was able to talk to him in the hospital before he passed. He answered the phone in a cheerful voice - "hey Rita, how are you"? You would never know how sick he was by his voice. We talked a little bit and before I hung up the phone, I told him that I loved him and that I would see him soon. But, before I was able to see him again, God called him Home.
Rest in peace Uncle Charles - I will love you always!
Your niece, Lorita Dodson (Rita)
