How sad to learn of Shirley's passing, yet comforting to know she did not linger & suffer. My sincerest heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you - to Mike, Lisa & the rest of her family. May you find comfort in knowing you were good to your mother/grandmother and was there supporting her in her time of need. She valued that more than she could put into words! How she loved to talk about her family and how proud she was of them!
I have many wonderful memories of Shirley - we would sit and talk and she would tell me what was wrong with the world. She loved God and the Bible and had strong faith in the Bible's promise of the resurrection. She was sweet, and was a comfort to me when I lost my husband, as we shared many similar feelings. She enjoyed visits from Odie, my cairn terrier and would spoil her with peanut butter on a spoon! I will truly miss Shirley. She was a good neighbor, friend and a caring person! - Mary, neighbor & friend

Lisa, Mike and Candy I am so sorry for your loss and pray that you are comforted by the many happy memories of times shared with your Mother. Your Mom is part of my favorite memories from my youth. I remember her laugh and her smile and her sense of humor, but mostly I remember that though I was a child she opened her home to me and always made me feel welcome. She created a warm and caring home and made me feel comfortable when I visited. I am sure that her caring, loving spirit comforted many during her special life and I know that it still comforts you all even now. My warmest regards and deepest sympathies to you all.

With heavy heart, condolences. Shirley, wonderful vibrant. Touching lives with love, hugs and HUGE personality. New neighbors 7 years ago, we became fast friends.
Sharing humor & wisdom: gun shot! Shirley shooting at bears! I'd call, she was ok. She'd laugh, gun propped in window. Bear Safe! Coffee was always on, and door open. So proud of her family, she talked about each of you. She prevailed in all tasks with gusto! We dined at her favorite, Bellacinos, and relished goodies I baked.
She gave of herself - loving my family. Sweet on Ray, he fixed her lights, her computer, her door, and played the piano. Loved her opinions, her insights! Laughing was her medicine, till we cried, teasing about her "tattoos" - warned her it would hurt! Shirley in heaven with her eyeliner flawless! Cherish your memories, her strength. She lived ... through tragedy, pain, illness but mostly, truly lived Life through family, friends and faith ... vivaciously! Her spirit will lives.
love Darlene & Ray

Lisa, Mike (Candy), Sisters and Family,
Shirley was truly a special person, I loved her like she was my sister, mother and a true friend. We had been through so much together in the 33 years that I had known her.
After I moved from Virginia, I had a bout of breast cancer, she was there for me through phone calls and letters, her constant concern for her family was a top priority to her. She talked so much about each one of you an what she wanted in life for you. She was from the old school as I am - sort of set in our ways as to how things should be but always know she loved each one of you in a special way, "HER WAY".
She talked so much about her sisters an the love she had for them. I know she treasured your calls and visits.
May God bless each of you as you go through this difficult time an as always cherish your memories, we all will miss her so much but know that she is in a much better place than we are without pain. She will be your Angel watching over you each day.
