Robert Samuel (Bob) Simpson, 88, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 25, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Maude Simpson; and sisters, Frances Woolwine and Margaret Cecil. Mr. Simpson served in the U S Navy during World War II. He was a longtime member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and for 30 years as Scoutmaster of Troop # 26. He was also a member of the Williamson Road Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Mary Hundley Simpson; children, Michael Gray Simpson and wife Barbara, Samuel Gray Simpson and wife Terresa, Sally Simpson Mills and husband Greg; grandchildren, David Simpson and wife Katelyn, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Mary Margaret, Jake, and Rachel Simpson, Holly and James Mills; sisters, Dorothy S. Seigler and Judy S. Robertson; numerous nieces and nephews. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the TLC Fund C/O Northminster Presbyterian Church 3911 Greenland Avenue Roanoke, Va. 24012. A memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Northminster Presbyterian Church by Dr. Russ Merritt. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
