I was saddened to learn of Bob's death as I remember the friendship that was formed during the years spent volunteering with the scouting program, I admired his commitment to his faith and respected the way he conducted his life.
Bob was a gentleman with a kind manner and caring attitude, he possessed a great sense of humor and he and Mary always made you feel welcome in their home.
Please accept our most sincere condolences.

As a member of the Northminster Presbyterian family, I had the privelege of having Mr. Simpson as my Sunday school teacher and Boy Scout Leader. I can still remember the good ole days at Camp Powhatan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Simpson family. Mr. Simpson will sure be missed!
Love,
Jim and Kathy Patterson

It is with heartfelt sympathy and a saddened heart that I write my condolences to the Simpson Family today regarding the loss of their Father, Brother and Uncle too. So very sorry to read about the passing of Uncle Bobby. My cousin Gil wrote a beautiful tribute that made me, and I am sure many others, aware of the fulfilling life that Uncle Bobby lived. A lifetime of service and giving to others...an example for us all to live by each and everyday.
With deepest sympathy,
Robyn Cecil Stultz

Uncle Bob was always my only uncle. He was kind, funny, caring, and modeled the behavior of a true gentleman and parent.
Bob was one of "Greatest Generation" and survived Kamikazi attacks on his Admiral's flagship during the battles of Okinawa and Iwo Jima, while he was still a teenager in the US Navy. He was a survivor and true son of Virginia and proud of his Shenandoah Valley roots.
He collected arrowheads, Civil War relics, built model airplanes, ornate sailing ships, furniture, guns, and much more. He showed us all how to love our wives, our children, and our friends - by being a great husband, father, brother, dad, uncle and friend.
I know that "unc" is now at peace in heaven. We all will miss him, but we know he had a wonderful life and leaves individual special memories in each of our hearts that will make us laugh and cry at the same time. His laugh was so contagious!
Bob, we all love you and will look for you in every sunrise and sunset.
