Dixie Lee Scott Deel of Vinton went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 29, 2015. For many years Dixie worked as a portrait painter. She was devoted to her family, a lover of dance, and an avid reader.
Surviving are her loving, devoted husband of 40 years, Bobby Deel; children, Debbie Robertson, Connie Robertson, Josh Robertson and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Kobie and Kolbrin Robertson, and Caleb Schmidt; and her special "child dog" Tele.Dixie was a lover of all animals and worked as a volunteer at the Roanoke Valley SPCA.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers friends honor Dixie by making a gift to the Roanoke Valley SPCA 1340 Baldwin Avenue N.E. Roanoke, Va. 24012.A gathering of family and friends will be held between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
