Twylia Jean Scharf, 67, of Vinton, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015. She was employed by Wal-Mart as a Customer Service Manager for many years, a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church, crime TV show aficionado, and avid Cher fan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; mothers, Lois and Dorothy; brother, Mike; father-in law, Frank; and brother-in law, Charlie. Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly Jean Tyree and husband, Kevin Trey Tyree; son, Ronald Gene Powers and wife, Dawn Renee'; grandchildren, Elizabeth Powers, Amanda Brown, Bradley Brown, and Sarah Powers; great-grandson Atticus Meador; sister, Paula Gibson; mother-in law, Mary Scharf; brother-in law, Bill Scharf and wife, Nancy; nephews and nieces, Tina Denton and husband, Amos, Chris Gibson, Dr. Andrew Scharf, Ryan Scharf, and Adam Scharf; and great-nephew, Jason Gibson. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road; interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Simpson Funeral Home.
