Obituary of Charles W. Robinson

Charles W. "Charlie" Robinson, Sr. 78 of Roanoke went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday April 22, 2015. He was preceded by his son David, his parents, and a “sister” Sidney McClanahan. Charlie lived in Roanoke for 60 years, retired from the Kroger Company as a Truck Driver after many years of service. He is a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church and being a fanatic about golf, he loved to get out and play a round with his close buddies. A very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be dearly missed by all. Left to cherish his memory are his very loving wife of 58 years, Janet; a son, Robb Robinson, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Krystin Robinson and Seth Justice both of GA; a sister, Sue Lotito of CA; dear friends and his personal baker Sharon Roberts and Garvin Cheek of Tennessee, and Jack McClanahan. Along with a host of nieces and nephews who were close to his heart. Family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice for their care they have given to Charlie. Also to a dear friend, Betty Ferguson for all her loving care, kindness and support to make it possible to have Charlie home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association in his memory would be honored. A memorial service celebrating Mr. Robinson’s life will be held 12:00pm Monday April 27, 2015 in Green Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Moser officiating, with fellowship following the service. Family will receive friends an hour before the service Monday at the church
