Obituary of Wayne Douglas Robertson
Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On April 19, 2015, at 7:59 p.m. the world lost the most outgoing, fun loving, caring man ever, Wayne D. Robertson, aka "Kozmo" the clown and "Santa Clause". Wayne was 73 years old and from Roanoke, but called Smith Mountain Lake home for many years.
Wayne was a member of Riverland Road Baptist Church and a graduate of Jefferson High School. He retired from the Roanoke Regional Airport asAssistant Airport Manager after more than 30 years of service. He later retired in 2013 from Delta Consultants. He was a member of the Williamson Road Masonic Lodge and had he lived until November of this year he would have celebrated his twenty-fifth year as a Mason. He was a member of Kazim Shrine Temple and served as a "Klown" Many affectionately knew him as "Kozmo".
In March of 2014 he was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie M.Robertson.Surviving are his father, Elbert "Doug" Robertson of Roanoke; and his one and only daughter, Tasha Robertson-Campbell (who will always be her daddy's little girl) and husband Rodney Campbell (who was more like a son than a son-in-law). Also surviving are aunts, uncles, many cousins, and a special friend Mary Bower. He leaves behind a life long friend and brother from another mother, Barney Arthur and wife Linda, and many special friendships that he cherished dearly.
Wayne was full of life, and always the life of the party. He had a laugh that would fill the room. Of the many things he loved the most, children were first. He always had a way to make people smile and feel special.
"Dad, you may be gone from this earth, and now be spending eternity in heaven, but your memory will forever be close to my heart. You were the best father in the world, and I am forever grateful for the close relationship you and I had. I will always be daddy's little girl. See you later alligator, after while crocodile. I will always believe my Santa you will be." Love you dad, Your Tiger
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Kazim Shrine Temple Transportation Fund 628 Campbell Avenue S.W. Roanoke, Va.24016.
