Barnie Eugene Campbell, 73, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, on April 10, 2012 at the Hospital of the Piedmont in High Point, NC. Mr. Campbell moved to Stokesdale, NC last year to be near his family. He was retired from the City of Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy T. Campbell, parents, Isaac and Edna Campbell, brothers, Bill, Walter, Dean and Warren Campbell; sisters, Edith Cassell and Gladys Terrell. Surviving are his daughter, Lesa Secco and her husband Bob of Kernersville, NC; granddaughter, Taylor Secco; brother, Clarence Campbell; sisters in law, Barbara Campbell, Mae Campbell, Carol Curry and Darlene Taylor and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Good Samaritan Ministries of Stokesdale P O Box 202 Stokesdale, NC 27357. A memorial service will be condcucted 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge NC with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. The family will receive friends in Roanoke from Noon Friday April 13, 2012 until 2 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. A graveside service will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Danny Miller will officiate. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
