Obituary of Jack A. Altice

Jack A. Altice 86 of Wirtz passed away Thursday February 19, 2015. He was preceded by his loving wife of 56 years Rebecca “Becky” Altice; a daughter, Nancy Altice, son, Jack Altice, Jr., sister, Peggy Lawrence, Brother, Fred P. Altice, along with his parents, Joseph “Al” and Cora Peters Altice. Mr. Altice was a long time member of Germantown Brick Church of The Brethren. He retired after many years of service with Garst Brothers Dairy, Pet Dairy, and J.P. Stevens Textile. He enjoyed his big garden and maintaining his well-manicured lawn, and often can be seen riding his mower. A loving and caring father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all. Surviving are his daughter, Alyce Newman of Glen Allen; sister, Reva Simmons of Harrisonburg; daughter-in-law, Jill Altice of Rocky Mount; two grandsons and eight great grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating Mr. Altice’s life will be held 11:00am Monday February 23, 2015 in Germantown Brick Church of The Brethren with Pastor Bruce Huffman officiating. Family will receive friends at the church Monday from 10:00am until service time. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
