Obituary of Lorraine Ann Robertson

Lorraine Ann Robertson 79 of Vinton went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday February 11, 2015. Her parents, Clarence and Hazel Williams, preceded her. Mrs. Robertson was a member of Seventeenth Street Baptist Church in Southeast Roanoke for many years. Lorraine was involved in many aspects of the church, including; serving as a director of the WMU, Church Historian, and as a devoted volunteer with the Food Bank Program. The food bank program grew quickly and eventually had to be moved to a building next door to the church. A lifelong resident of Vinton, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who will be dearly missed by all. Surviving are her two sons, Tony Robertson and his wife Terry of Vinton, Rickie Robertson of Roanoke; a grandson, Jesse Robertson; great grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, and Jesse Robertson, Jr.; and her devoted pet Princess. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Roanoke Memorial for all their care they gave to her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Food Bank Program c/o Seventeenth Street Baptist Church, 113 17th St. Roanoke, Va. 24013 in her memory. A service of Remembrance will be held 6 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Seventeenth Street Baptist Church with Pastor David Burgess.officiating.
