Obituary of Rebecca Lynn Shaner

Rebecca Lynn Shaner, 54, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away at home on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Carolyn Shaner of Stuarts Draft, Virginia. Becky was a graduate of Mary Washington College, and was a paralegal for over thirty years, the greatest part spent at Wooten Hart PLC law firm in Roanoke. She was an active member of St. Phillip Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful cook, a loyal friend, deeply appreciative of pretty flowers, furry companions, and those things that makes the world a beautiful place. Surviving are her husband, Dan Kepner, her sister Gwen Kite (Jerry) of Waynesboro, Va., her special aunt, Margaret Mitchell of Roanoke, and many beloved nieces, nephews and most importantly, her very kind friends at St. Phillips Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Roanoke Virginia SPCA, her favorite charity. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on January 14, 2015 at St. Phillip Lutheran Church, in Hollins, Virginia with Pastor David Derrick presiding. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.
