Obituary of Lois Marie Countiss

Lois D. “Grandma” Countiss, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 28, 2014. She was the daughter of Robert & Verda Daniels and the wife of Charles Countiss, now deceased. She was the mother of Rob Countiss of Mebane, NC and his wife Marlo, Karen Beckner and husband Chuck, of Roanoke. Lois was the beloved grandmother of Lindsay and Danielle Beckner of Roanoke, and Jacob, Emily and Laura Beth Countiss of Mebane, NC. Grandma Countiss cherished her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters Roberta Mise, of Jonesville, Pat and her husband Don Johnson of Orlando FL. Shirl and husband Paul Hope, also from Orlando, and Johnnie Cannon of Indianapolis. She was also the aunt of numerous nieces and nephews that she adored. The family would like to thank the special team and care givers at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital 7th Floor CCU. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in her name, 2224 South Jefferson Street Roanoke, Va. 24014. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Craft officiating, interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
