Ronald L. "Fuzz" Faulkner, 61, of Salem passed away at Lewis Gale Hospital on Thursday, April 5, 2012 after a long illness. He was born on March 24, 1951 a son of Paul H. Faulkner (a USS Arizona survivor) and Mildred L. Barker Faulkner. He was the beloved Daddy to his precious dog Miss Baby. He was a graduate of Viauds, a private school in Roanoke, and was fortunate to have h had many wonderful teachers there. Fuzz worked at Jean Moore's Custom Framing in Roanoke as a framer extradonaire for many years. There he made many wonderful friends. He also worked in HVAC for years and always enjoyed meeting his customers. He was an avid camper, loved fishing, canoeing, and was a catch and release kind of guy. He loved to float down Craigs Creek and did it every chance possible for over 30 years. He loved dancing and taking long drives to nowhere, which won his wife's heart. Fuzz loved his SciFi movies and it was his dream to go into outer space. He loved to work in his lawn and garden in addition to keeping his red truck spotless. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Carolyn "Sissy" James Faulkner, cousin, Jeanesta Pandlis; sister in law, Nina A. James (Jimmy Resolute); brother in law, Michael W. James, aunt, Patricia Farley (Harry); "special sister" Maria Keesee and best friend Christopher Giles (Leisa Giles) and many other family members, good friends and caring neighbors. Special thanks to friend Scott Mercy for tilling the garden for us, and Sanford King for mowing the yard while Fuzz was ill. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the U S Forest Service/State Parks of Virgina or to The Angels of Assisi 415 Campbell Avenue Roanoke, Virginia 24016. The family has chosen to honor Ronnie's request that his remains be cremated. A celebration of his life will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends following the service.
