Obituary of Jean Ballantine Campbell

Jean B Campbell of Moneta went to meet our Heavenly Father on Saturday December 6, 2014. She was born on October 2, 1934 in Bakersfield CA. to Samuel and Nell (Miles) Ballantine. She was preceded in death by husband, William E. Campbell, Jr, son, William David Campbell, and nephew, Mark Steven Crawford. She is a 1952 graduate of Wm Fleming High School and a Golden Colonel. She retired from the VA Medical Center after 30 years of service and was a volunteer in the library at Moneta Elementary School. She was an avid cross stitcher for which she won many ribbons and an undying Hokie Fan. She was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Family. Left to honor her memory are Son, Mark and his wife, Dawn, and their children Mark A., Erica and Darren Blankenship, and her great grandson, Jasper and Amelia Campbell. Also a daughter, Cindy and husband Steven Doss, and their children Shawn Patrick Troy, Michael Doss and his children Michael, Jr. and Jonathan Doss, Mark Alan and wife Amber with their children, Katlin, Tristan, and Elijah Doss. Daughter-in-law, Lynn Stevens-Campbell, son, Nathan and great grandson, Nicholas Stevens; sister, Betty and husband Ron Crawford; niece, Cathy and husband Jim Crawford; nephew, Ken and wife Sharon Crawford and their children, Cade and Case. Along with special family friends Randall and Martha Dalton, Judy Gerdeman and her family and many more friends that she also considered family. (you know who you are). The family would like to extend a special thanks to NX Stage Nurse, Stephanie Ogden and the whole Fresenius Dialysis Center in Bedford Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church, 4040 Williamson Rd. Roanoke Va. 24012 or to a charity of your choice. A memorial service celebrating Jean’s life will be held 6:00pm Wednesday December 10, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Kenneth P. Lane officiating.
