Obituary of Benedict Andrew DeMaury

B. Andrew DeMaury 82 of Vinton went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Joanne Hall DeMaury. Mr. DeMaury retired from AT&T and later from the Transportation Department of Roanoke City Public Schools. Surviving are his children, Michele Janney and husband William of Vinton; Andy DeMaury and wife Sherry of Ft. Mill, S.C.; Mark DeMaury and wife Ann of Troutville; grandchildren, Josh DeMaury, Marcie Janney, and Aundrea DeMaury; great grandchildren, Jordan and Juliet; and a devoted friend Helen Snead. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Carilion Medical Staff on the 8th floor Mountain Progressive Care Unit, the 10th Floor Mountain Intensive Care Unit, and Dr. Kunal Joshi for the many acts of kindness and care provided during Mr. DeMaury's illness. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens by Elder Jimmy Bryant. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
