Neil L. Harper, 57, of Roanoke, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Friday, November 28, 2014. Neil retired after 35 years of service with Norfolk Southern as a boilermaker/welder. He was a member of East End Baptist Church. Surviving are his father and mother, Kersey and Annette Harper; sons, Jeremy and Ray Harper; brother, Bruce Harper and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Trent, Christine and Hunter. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to East End Baptist Church 1030 Mecca Street N. E. Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Troy Mueller. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
