Obituary of Carolyn LaPradd Anderson

Carolyn Sue LaPradd Barton Anderson, 62, of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away of a brain aneurysm on Thursday, November 20th, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lucille LaPradd. Carolyn was born in Roanoke, VA and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1970. She was employed early in life by Hennebry’s, Leggett, Moore’s, Roanoke City Police Dept, and later established a successful career that she enjoyed in banking at Colonial American, Crestar Bank, Crestar Mortgage, and First Union. Carolyn loved time spent traveling to new places and enjoyed live country music venues. She thoroughly enjoyed going to flea markets and loved yard sales and antiques/collectibles. Survivors include her husband and soul-mate of 20 plus years, William L. Anderson (Boodie); her only child and her Sunshine, Rhoda J. Barton; her three caring sisters and inlaws (eldest-youngest): Beverly and Ronnie Campbell, Judy and Roger Smith, and Becky and Rick Dixon; her four protective brothers and inlaws (eldest-youngest): Marvin LaPradd, Ralph and Linda LaPradd, Calvin and Bonnie LaPradd, and Richard and Sharon LaPradd. Additional survivors include many nieces and nephews, her husband William’s five children, her precious dog Sophia, and her four grand dogs. Carolyn will be remembered in our hearts forever. She was a selfless person who always thought of others and their needs before herself. Her morals and faith in Jehovah God were steadfast and unwavering. She was such an amazing, beautiful person capable of so many varying degrees of talent, we will miss her beyond words. A memorial service to honor Carolyn’s memory will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November, 29th, 2014 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke VA.
