Obituary of Ronda York Honaker

Please share a memory of Ronda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thursday November 13, 2014The Angels of the Lord descended upon Roanoke and received Gods' beloved daughter Ronda York Honaker and carried her to Abrahams' Bosom in Paradise. She believed in the fulfillment of her Lord Jesus' promise to be absent from the body is to be present with him. Her testimony through her life and illness was that her life was in no way unto death. She believed she would have eternal life through Christ Jesus her Lord and Savior. She knew the thoughts that he had for her would be thoughts of peace and not of evil and she knew what awaited her. She was an inspiration to all, for her testimony and love for Jesus. Jesus Christ was always at the forefront of her life, for like Paul, in the end she eagerly expected and hoped that she would be in no way ashamed, but would be of sufficient courage now and always. Christ Jesus would be exalted in her body not only in life but through her death as well. Ronda believed for to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Ronda was a faithful member of Life Tabernacle Church in Vinton where she served in Womens' Ministery, The Prayer Team, Praise and Worship Team as well as the Food Pantry. She sincerely praised the Staff of Roanoke Memorial Hospital, especially those of 10 South for their exceptional care, loving kindness, and dedication to her wellbeing. Ronda felt they went well above and beyond their call of duty, far exceeding her expectations and she was truly grateful, as was her family. She sent her thanks to the men of Norfolk Southern Shafer's Crossing Locomotive Shop for their loving prayers and intersession. She wanted them to know, she felt their many prayers, and she believed her husband is blessed to be a part of such a strong ministry of faithful followers of her Lord Jesus. Ronda ascended to her Heavenly Father where she awaits her loving husband Anthony G. Honaker, three surviving sisters, Lorri Yvonne York, Phyllis York Ayers and Jackie Baldwin, as well as their families. Two loving daughters, BeLinda Jo Hunter and Kristyn Hunter Allen, and her stepdaughter, Tiffany Honaker. Also included are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition, she is also survived by her many Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus, as well as members of the South West VA Walk to Emmaus Walk #137. Her memorial service will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. at Life Tabernacle Church, 801 E Virginia Avenue, Vinton, VA. A fellowship lunch is to follow the service where everyone is welcome to enjoy and celebrate the life of our beloved Ronda. In lieu of flowers, she has requested all gifts and donations be made to The Praise and Worship Team of Life Tabernacle Church to complete the sound system.
