Edythe A. Davis, 88, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Radford College and retired from Roanoke County Public Schools. Surviving are her daughter, Diane Davis of Salem; sons, Larry Davis of Hayes, Va.; and Van Davis of Eureka, Montana; sister, Jean Thompson of Salem; grandchildren, David Garraghty, Brian Davis, Blair Davis, Tonya Pickeral and Buck Conner; three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Cornerston Church 6938 Wood Haven Road by Pastor David Emeigh. Private interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone, Virginia. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
