Welvie H. "Webb" Bowling, 90, of Roanoke passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer T. and Lala Spencer Bowling and a brother and sister in law, Rick and Iva Bowling of Greenville, Va. Mr. Bowling was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. He was the owner/operator of Webbs B P Service Center and later worked eighteen years for Magic City Ford. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Hazel D. Bowling; son, Welvie Lynn Bowling and Janice of Goodview; granddaughter, Brandy Bowling Tinsley and husband Brian of Vinton; great grandchildren, Logan and Brooklyn Tinsley; sister, Opal Thomas of Fork Mountain, Va.; brother, Coy Bowling and wife Elva of Roanoke; several special nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to a charity of the donor's choice. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
