Edith Lorraine McVey Martin 87 of Roanoke, Va. died on Sunday, August 14, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Newton McVey and Stella Custer McVey; husband, Wallace L. Martin; son, Gary McVey and daughter, Jo Martin Thompson.
Surviving are her son, Wallace Lee Martin; grandchildren, Jaye S. Clarke, Jolee McVey Preston, D. Seth Martin, Brandon Martin and Luke Martin; and great grandchildren, Mackenzie England, Joey Preston, Sarah Preston and Trey Lawrence.
Mrs. Martin was a long time member of Enon Baptist Church and was president and co-founder of B & M Sheet Metal Shop, Inc.
The family would like to thank the following people for their endless support; Dr. Michael H. Koch, Spider McPherson, Good Samaritan Hospice including Kathy Moses SW, Jonathan RN., Aretha NA, 8 MT PCU staff including Jessie RN., Lauren RN., Jeff CNA and Wendy Helman.
The family will honor Edith's request that funeral services be private.
