Fred H. Campbell, 72, of Daleville passed away, Sunday, August 7, 2011 just a few short hours prior to his 73rd birthday. He was born in Roanoke County on August 8, 1938 to the late Lee Houston and Tincie Amanda Huffman Campbell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Barbara U. Campbell and Janet Thompson. Fred worked as a plumber in the Roanoke Valley for 45 years making many friends and acquaintances. Fred was an avid hunter, but his favorite past time was going to the Saturday night races at the Franklin County Speedway with his racing buddies. He was a member of Valley Christian Church. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and best buddy of 53 years, Reba S. Campbell; brother, Willard L. Campbell and wife Marie of Catawba; aunt Merita Williams of Covington; brothers-in-law, Thomas Stanley and wife Reva of Mineral, Virginia; Don Jamison of Richmond; Joel Jamison and wife Carol of Richmond; Tim Jamison and wife Robin of South Carolina; sister in law, Rita Martin and husband Ronnie of Vinton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Johnny Tickle and the Rev. Robert Brown. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
