Obituary of Gertrude Pendleton

Gertrude Shank Pendleton, 95, died on July 19, 2011. She was the last surviving child of James Marion Shank and Cammie Perdue Shank. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henry Pendleton. Gert and Tommy were members of First Baptist Church. Gertrude is survived by her son, Gerald Douglas Pendleton of North Yorkshire, England. Among many friends and family, she leaves a niece, Betty Linkous (Harold) of Christiansburg and a nephew the Rev. James S. Angle (Kate Harmon Angle) of Salem. The family appreciates the Christian care of Jane Humphries and the ongoing assistance of Bob Anderson. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 28, twelve noon in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, with Rev. James Shank Angle officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
