Baine Bedwell Porter of Roanoke passed away Monday, July 18, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Lee and Nannie Rhudy Bedwell, husband Cecil T. Porter and brothers, Richard A. Bedwell and C. L. Bedwell, and a niece, Karen Wingate Agnew. Mrs Porter was a member of Southview United Methodist Church and retired from Heironimus. Surviving are a sister, Imogene B. (Joe) Wingate of Salem; brother, Robert L. (Augusta) Bedwell of Greensboro; numerous nieces and nephews including, Susan (Gary) Fleming, C. Ronald (Patra) Bedwell, J. Donald (Karen) Bedwell and Greg (Kim) Wingate; and devoted friend, Ruth Bishop. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Southview United Methodist Church 3539 Peters Creek Road Roanoke, Virginia 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. A graveside service will be follow at 2 p.m. Thursday in West End Cemetery Wytheville, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
