Obituary of Delores Webb

Delores Martin Webb, 71, of Roanoke passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 while attending the Blue Ridge Theater in Ferrum. Delores was born on March 16, 1940 in Paint Bank, Virginia to Monsell and Hampton Martin. In addition to her parents, Delores is predeceased by her beloved husband, Carter J. Webb. Delores was retired from Lewis-Gale Medical Center where she had served the community as an X-Ray Technician for forty plus years. Following her retirement from Lewis-Gale, she had worked for several years at Dunman Floral Supply. Delores loved life and people and always had a smile and a word of kindness or encouragement for everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends who have shared their friendship together over the years. Those left to mourn her passing are three sisters, Ama Lowe Martin Reid of Salem; Louvena Anderson Sanders of Roanoke; and Martha M. Hepfner of Blacksburg; also to mourn her passing is a special niece, Jill D. Hepfner and her constant companion, her cat "Puff". Also surviving are two nephews, George and David Anderson. and three step children, Bruce (Butch) Webb, Tony Webb and Robin W. Brooks and several step grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special thanks to members of the Ferrum College community, especially the President and her husband as well as the staff at Franklin Memorial Hospital for their many acts of helpfulness during this very difficult time. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. David Rochford. Interment will follow in Daleville Cemetery.
