Obituary of Cathleen Fisher

Cathleen (Cat) Blankenship Fisher, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Blankenship and Charles Fisher; a son, Kenneth Boyd; and a daughter, Brenda Sue. Surviving are her children, Robert (Bob) Blankenship, of Roanoke, Cathy Drummond and husband, Jeff, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Tammi Humphries and husband, Larry, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Kristin Blankenship, Ashley Avila and Major Mike Avila, Candace Finney and husband Kevin, Lynsey Ferris, Taylor Foltz and husband, Aron; great-grandchildren, Carrington and Emerson Finney; and a great-grandson to be born in October; brother, Richard Dixon, of Ravenswood, W.Va.; sisters, Nadine Miles of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mavis McSwain, of Florida, Eloise Thomas, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; very special friend, Frank Wade, of Buena Vista; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Parkway Wesleyan Church, Manna Ministry Fund, 3645 Orange Ave. Roanoke, VA 24012. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in Monte Vista Memorial Park in Princeton, W.Va. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
