Dorothy Dean Duncan, 83, of Salem went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 13, 2012. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, parents, husband Alvin L. Duncan and daughter, Linda Dean Meador. Mrs. Duncan was a longtime employee of the Maid Bess Corporation. Surviving are her children, Terry L. Duncan of Norfolk; Ellen M. Brooks and husband Larry of Roanoke; Stephen W. Duncan of Salem; grandchildren, Dawn, Lisa, Larry, Dana, Drew and Cory; several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Ken Nienke. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
