Lois Francisco Dowdy, 84, a long time resident of the Mount Pleasant community in Roanoke passed away Friday, April 8, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed. Dowdy. Mrs. Dowdy retired from National Linen Service. Surviving are her sister, Marie Campbell of Catawba; cousin, Pearl Crawford of Roanoke; nephews, Mike Dogan and wife Shirley of Vinton; Gary Dogan and wife Brenda of Roanoke; grand niece, Heather Dogan; and grand nephew, Brian Dogan and wife Melanie all of Roanoke. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund C/O Mount Pleasant Baptist Church 3000 Pitzer Road Roanoke, Virginia 24014. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Dr. Eric Spanno. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home.
