Dianna Fishel, 86, of Salem, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Dianna was a veteran of World War II in the United States Navy, serving as a nurse at Seattle, Washington Naval Hospital. She has a Masters Degree in Education and taught Elementary School, was a former resident at Richfield Retirement Community in Salem, Virginia, and a member of Salem Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. Dianna loved the Lord and was gifted with many talents and always had a smile. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Parrish and husband, David; son, Gary Westervelt; grandchildren, Kimberly and Leigh Parrish, Amelia and Joshua Westervelt, all of New York; brother, Paul Beveridge and wife, Nancy, of Salem; sisters, Viola Cole and husband, Charles of New York, Anita Anderson, of Manassas; also two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the caretakers and staff at the Veterans Care Center in Salem.
